increase in the economic efficiency of the state's transport companies or raises its attractiveness for passengers contributes to strengthening local public transport and securing it in the long term.<\/p><p>For this reason, the VMV provides financial grants for investments in the further development of local public transport.<\/p><p>Municipal authorities, railway undertakings and transport companies can apply for funding for the realisation of further projects.<\/p><p>In particular, VMV promotes measures to improve the transport infrastructure, digital distribution and control structures, regional and on-demand bus services, but also customer-oriented cooperation projects between individual operators, replacement services on the road and the establishment of alternative
