ODEG offers daily train services in southern Mecklenburg with the RB15 line between Waren (M\u00fcritz) and Inselstadt Malchow. A new feature this year is that the RB15 line will be extended from Waren via Malchow to Plau am See.<\/p><p>During the holiday season, the RB15 will serve additional stops (more stations) in Alt Schwerin, Karow (Meckl) and Plau am See in the tourist region on Saturdays and Sundays at two-hour intervals during Easter and from 26 May until 11 September 2022.<\/p><p>For tourists and travellers from the west, the RB19 line will start this year with almost twice as many trains and for the first time at two-hour intervals on the route between Parchim, L\u00fcbz, Passow (Meckl), Gallin, Karow (Meckl) and Plau am See. In Hagenow Land, there is a connection to the RE1 trains from\/to Hamburg. In addition, there will once again be suitable connecting trains from\/to Schwerin (RB13) in Parchim.<\/p><p>\"The Southern Railway route is aimed at tourist traffic to the Mecklenburg Lake District. The timetable concept has been better coordinated this year together with the participating bus and railway companies in the district and the Southern Railway Citizens' Initiative, because the two-hourly interval of the regional trains is supplemented by an hourly bus service on route 77 (VLP-Verkehrsgesellschaft Ludwigslust Parchim) from Plau am See to Malchow. This means that holidaymakers can easily and conveniently discover the most beautiful destinations in the region by train or bus,\" said State Transport Minister Reinhard Meyer.<\/p><p>In addition, passengers have the option of ordering an on-demand bus at the stations in Parchim, L\u00fcbz and Plau<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vlp-lup.de\/rufbus\/fahrplaene\/\">(Rufbus VLP<\/a>).<\/p><p>\"The new integrated rail, scheduled bus and one-demand bus timetable takes the transport services on the Southern Railway onto a whole a new level. I am pleased about the cooperation between all the modes of transport and especially about the fact that they accept each others' tickets,\" said Stefan L\u00f6sel, Managing Director of Verkehrsgesellschaft Ludwigslust-Parchim mbH (VLP).<\/p><p>Clemens Russell from the Citizens' Initiative added: \"With joint action, it was possible to significantly improve the Southern Railway seasonal services in 2022. However, we regret the lack of a connection from Berlin via Pritzwalk to Plau this year. Basically, anyone who travels by train and bus is using tomorrow's mobility solutions and not only on seasonal routes at weekends, but also every day all year round.\"<\/p><p><strong>A bigger network for your ticket<\/strong><\/p><p>As it did last year, the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has successfully lobbied for better fare networking. \"It is particularly important that companies accept each others' tickets on the route between Parchim, Plau am See and Inselstadt Malchow. This means that passengers only need to buy one ticket,\" said Reinhard Meyer.<\/p><p>With state-wide ticket offers and the \"Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ticket\" (MV-ticket), this year it is once again possible to travel to the Lake District from all over Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, but also, for example, from the Hamburg area by train and with just one ticket. Cycling enthusiasts can also take their bikes along on trains and buses for only six euros with the local transport day ticket for bicycles.<\/p><p><strong>This year the state takes over responsibility<\/strong><\/p><p>With the timetable change in December 2021, the state-owned VMV - Verkehrsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mbH has taken over responsibility for the M\u00fcritzbahn (RB15 Waren - Malchow) from the district of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte on behalf of the state.
