Update: Special train away match of FC Hansa Rostock in Berlin

Press release of the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour

Schwerin, 12 April 2024, Due to a derailment of a goods train in the Birkenwerder area, the announced relief train for the FC Hansa Rostock away match against Hertha BSC has to run via Schwerin.

Transport Minister Reinhard Meyer thanked DB Regio AG for its quick response in rescheduling the additional train that had already been ordered: "Unfortunately, the repair work following the derailment in Birkenwerder on the route between Rostock and Berlin is taking longer than initially expected. The train must therefore be rerouted via Schwerin."

The special train on Friday (12.04.24) is now running:

  • from Berlin Gesundbrunnen 22:01 - to Rostock Hbf 01:08

The relief train stops on the diversion route in Wittenberge (23:15), Ludwigslust (23:42), Schwerin (00:06), Bad Kleinen (00:21), Bützow (00:43) and Schwaan (00:54).

"We ask Hansa supporters travelling by train to use the additional train for their return journey to Rostock despite the longer journey time and to adapt to the changed circumstances. For the outward journey from Rostock, the capacity of the necessary rail replacement service from Oranienburg for the onward journey to Berlin will probably not allow all passengers to continue their journey immediately. Please bear this in mind when planning your journey," said Meyer.
