Mecklenburgische Bäderbahn Molli GmbH (MBB)
This route first opened in 1886 and the nostalgic "Molli" steam trains still travel along the 15.4-kilometre stretch between Bad Doberan via Heiligendamm to the Baltic resort of Kühlungsborn. The historic narrow-gauge railway with a gauge of 900 mm carries more than 585,000 passengers a year. A ride on the "Molli" steam trains is a unique experience.
Eisenbahn-Bau- und Betriebsgesellschaft Pressnitztalbahn mbH (PRESS)
Since 1895, the historic "Rasender Roland" has been plodding across Germany's largest island of Rügen at a leisurely top speed of 30 km/h. And it does so on an even narrower track than the "Molli" - 750 mm is wide enough. The narrow-gauge steam railway connects the traditional seaside resorts and is a romantic holiday experience, especially for visitors to the island. The "Rasender Roland" runs daily from Putbus via Binz, Sellin and Baabe to Göhren. During the season, it also stops at Lauterbach (Mole). In addition to the "Rasender Roland" miniature railway, PRESS also operates the normal gauge RB26 route from Bergen auf Rügen to Lauterbach Mole on behalf of the state.
