DB Regio AG is the largest rail transport provider in the state. In 2021, DB Regio AG operated the regional express routes RE1, RE3, RE4, RE5 and RE7 as well as the regional railway routes RB11, RB12, RB17, RB18, RB 23, RB24, RB25 and the urban routes 1,2 and 3. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, DB Regio trains cover a total of around 13.6 million kilometres per year.
