New funding guideline for public transport bus services in MV

Schwerin, the 04.12.2023 "We want to strengthen rural areas with cross-district transport!" - This is one of the goals of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the VMV-Verkehrsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as part of the mobility offensive. To this end, a new funding guideline for the granting of subsidies to promote scheduled bus services in local public transport in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (TaktbusÖPNVRL) was launched today. This was published today in the official gazette.

The aim is to improve the services offered by existing bus routes in the area and to create new continuous regular-interval routes. The planned regular-interval bus routes will run every hour and every two hours, regardless of school and holiday times. The service will be extended, particularly at weekends and during off-peak times. The buses generally run from Monday to Friday between 5 am and 10 pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 8 am and 8 pm. In addition, the regular-interval bus routes are linked with rail services to create a dense network for the whole of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The funding is aimed at municipal authorities in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and was approved by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour. This funding comes into force on 05.12.2023. Conditions and further information on the funding principles of the guideline can be found at here can be taken.
