On the initiative of the state government, VMV manages fare cooperations and ticket offers in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and works closely with the authorities responsible for other public transport systems (the districts and independent cities) and the local transport companies.

State-wide fare offers for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Under the auspices of VMV, the MV School Pupils' Holiday Ticket was introduced as early as 2000 and is used by more than ten thousand pupils every year during the summer holidays to discover Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The ticket is valid for all pupils of public, state-approved or state-recognised private schools as well as of specialised grammar schools and specialised secondary schools (which do not offer vocational qualifications) on presentation of a pupil ID card or comparable proof of eligibility. The ticket is valid in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on all local trains for journeys in 2nd class, city and public buses (except long-distance buses), trams, ferries operated by Weiße Flotte GmbH in Warnemünde and by antaris Seetouristik und Wassersport GmbH in Rostock.
