Where is the ticket valid?

The D-Ticket is valid throughout Germany in / on:
  • Local trains (2nd class) and suburban trains (2nd class),
  • Long-distance trains (2nd class) between Rostock Hbf and Stralsund Hbf,
  • City and regional buses (except long-distance buses),
  • Call buses e.g. NAHBUS, VLP and REBUS (at capacity) plus service surcharges,
  • Trams, underground trains, other selected means of transport, e.g. Warnow ferries in Rostock & Warnemünde

You will need the following documents for the order:

  • Identity document (front and back of identity card).
  • Please note that you must order your ticket before the first day of validity (first of the month) by the 15th of the previous month, as we still carefully check all the necessary evidence beforehand. Please take this into account in your planning and order your ticket in good time.
  • The ticket is personal, it is not transferable.
  • The ticket can be used for an unlimited period of time.
  • The ticket is only available by subscription for €29 per month.
  • The ticket is available as a chip card or mobile phone ticket.
  • If your mobile phone is defective or lost, please contact Verkehrsverbund Warnow (VVW) and you will receive new access data for using the ticket.
  • In case of unauthorised use, an increased fare of at least €60 will be charged.
  • The Deutschland-Ticket is a Germany-wide fare offer. The tariff regulations for the Deutschland-Ticket apply, as well as the respective conditions of carriage of the transport company used.
  • The fare offer is aimed at private individuals. The Deutschland-Ticket for senior citizens in M-V cannot be purchased by legal entities (such as companies).
  • If you have an existing Deutschland-Ticket subscription, you would have to cancel this in due time by the 10th of the month with e.g. Deutsche Bahn AG and reapply for the Deutschland-Ticket for senior citizens with your transport company.

Senior citizens who do not have their main residence in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and/or have not yet reached the age limit of 65.

It is not possible to take additional persons, a bicycle or a dog with the D-Ticket.

The ticket is personal and not transferable to other persons.

The ticket price for the Deutschland-Ticket is € 49 per month. 20 € is paid by the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to introduce the fare offer for you. You therefore only have to pay € 29.

The ticket price will be debited from the specified account by SEPA direct debit.

  • Journeys with the ICE, IC or EC (except those travelling between Rostock Hbf and Stralsund Hbf).
  • Free transport of a bicycle
  • Travelling by long-distance bus
  • Free transport of additional persons (from 6 years)
  • Journeys in 1st coach class

In health resorts and holiday regions, the regulations of the local health resort bylaws must be observed.

The subscription can be cancelled monthly. The cancellation must be received by the subscription office of Verkehrsverbund Warnow by the 10th of the month so that the subscription is cancelled at the end of the respective calendar month.

After your successful order, an onboarding email will be sent to the email address you provided in good time before the ticket becomes valid, containing the information required to display the ticket in the VVW app.

The Deutschland-Ticket for senior citizens from MV can be ordered conveniently as a subscription with monthly debit here for €29 incl. VAT from 27.06.2023 onwards. 

The Deutschland-Ticket is not transferable and does not entitle the holder to take along persons older than 6 years. Furthermore, it is valid nationwide on all local public transport services.
