Funding for individual on-demand transport

Funding

Alternative forms of public transport services are funded if they help to improve the cost-effectiveness and increase the attractiveness of public transport. Alternative forms of service within the meaning of the guidelines are: Shared taxis, on-demand buses and community buses, provided that they replace or supplement existing scheduled services in accordance with Section 42 of the Passenger Transport Act (PBefG).

For the alternative forms of service, subsidies are available for consultancy costs (during planning), material costs and operating costs. This funding measure is regulated in the "Directive on the granting of subsidies for alternative forms of public transport in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" (AltBedFRL).

The aim is to ensure sufficient public transport services even in areas and at times where the demand is low through the increased introduction of alternative forms of service and, at the same time, to gain experience from projects of this kind.
